| About Our Company |
 |
 |
Thirty eight years ago, in
1969, Stephen Barbuto, the owner of WeatherTight Roofing, started
in the roofing business in New Jersey and New York. Back in
those days, Steve started out doing built-up and hot tar roofs
on residential, warehouse, commercial buildings and strip malls.
From there his company graduated to doing public projects like
schools, hospitals, institutions, post offices and other government
buildings. Then Steve went into the single-plys like EPDM, TPO’s
and modifieds. Today, our New Jersey headquarters still install
the standard roofs that have been around for years as well as
the newer SPF roofing that the Florida Headquarters specializes
in.
In 1981, WeatherTight Roofing, Inc., was born and the company
started doing Sprayed Polyurethane Foam roofing. The company
hooked up with biggest name in that industry, General Electric,
and soon became one of the biggest GE applicators for SPF roofing
in the United States. Eight years ago, WeatherTight Roofing
opened up its Florida division in Fort Lauderdale. It’s
been non stop for us since then.
WeatherTight is unique in several ways, one of which is that
we have our own crews who work only for us and who have been
with the company since the beginning. We supply permanent and
temporary housing for our crews, depending on where the roofing
job is. For example, we just finished a very large roof on a
condominium in Key West, FL. We sent our people and equipment
to Key West and reserved a block of hotel rooms for two weeks
for the entire crew.
We treat our people like family and it pays off handsomely by
having employees who have pride in their work, who are highly
skilled, who are dependable and who are trustworthy. That’s
worth a million dollars to us! Most other roofing companies
subcontract their labor and are constantly having problems with
the skill level of their people and their dependability. We
sleep easy not having to worry about that! |
